St. Patrick’s Day is a International holiday that is celebrated by Catholics and christians for decades. The holiday originates from Ireland and celebrates St. Patrick.

(National Catholic Register)

St. Patrick was born in late 4th century or early 5th century AD.  He is the patron saint of Ireland. However, he was not originally from Ireland, but from England. He was brought there in the 5th century AD. He was ordained a bishop in England and established several monasteries across Ireland. Also he ministered to the Celtic people and fused some of their traditional rituals with Christianity to help them understand. This is where the Celtic Cross originates. The Celtic Cross is a cross with a circle around the center, symbolizing the sun. St. Patrick died on March 17, 461 AD.  This Holiday is celebrated to honor St. Patrick and his conversion of Ireland.
